Privacy Policy

WeddingWire ("WeddingWire", "we", "us", "our") operates a wedding-planning workspace for couples and planners in Sri Lanka, accessible through our website and our iOS/Android mobile app, including the tools couples use to plan (budget, guest list, seating, timeline) and the pages their guests use (RSVP, seating lookup, photo sharing, gifting). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it's handled.

1. Information we collect

Account information. Name, email, and password (or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google) when you create an account.

Wedding & guest information. Everything you enter to plan your wedding — guest names, contact details, RSVP status, seating, budget figures, vendor contacts, timeline, and any photos, videos, or voice/video memories uploaded by you or your guests.

Payment information. When you upgrade your plan or a guest sends a cash gift, payment is handled directly by our payment processors (PayHere, Cybersource, or KOKO Pay). We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and its amount — we never see or store full card numbers.

Usage information. Basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used to keep the service secure and working correctly.

2. How we use it

• To provide the workspace and guest-facing pages you and your guests use.
• To send emails and SMS/WhatsApp messages you ask us to send on your behalf (invitations, save-the-dates, reminders).
• To process plan payments and cash gifts, and to keep an accurate ledger of gifts received.
• To keep the service secure, diagnose problems, and improve it.

3. Guest data is your responsibility

If you're the couple or a collaborator, you control what guest information is added to a wedding, and you're responsible for having the right to share it with us — for example, a guest's phone number or email so we can send them an invite. Guests can see and correct their own RSVP details through their personal invite link.

4. Where your data lives

Photos, videos, and other uploads are stored in Amazon S3. Structured data (guest lists, budgets, RSVPs, etc.) is stored in our database. Payment gateway credentials and other sensitive configuration are encrypted at rest. We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

5. Who we share it with

We share data only with the services needed to run WeddingWire: our payment processors (PayHere, Cybersource, KOKO Pay) for payments, notify.lk for SMS/WhatsApp delivery, our email provider for sending mail, and Amazon Web Services for file storage. We do not sell your data.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your wedding data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or a wedding, we remove the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to keep payment records for legal or accounting purposes.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your account and wedding data at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us. Guests can request removal of their information by contacting the couple or emailing us directly.

8. Children

WeddingWire is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We'll update the effective date above if this policy changes materially, and where appropriate, let account holders know.
