Terms of Service
Effective 20 August 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of WeddingWire — the couple/planner workspace (available on the web and via our iOS/Android mobile app), the public guest pages, and the public wedding website. By creating an account or using WeddingWire, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
WeddingWire provides tools to plan a wedding — budget, guest list, seating, timeline, vendors, a public wedding website, and a guest page reachable by QR code — accessible from our website or our mobile app, together with a cash-gifting feature described in Section 5.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information to create an account and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account, including actions taken by collaborators you invite.
3. Plans & billing
WeddingWire offers a Free plan and paid Premium and Planner plans, billed annually in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) through PayHere. Current pricing is shown on our pricing page. Paid plans do not renew automatically unless you're told otherwise at checkout; you can view or cancel a plan from your account at any time. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you and your guests upload — guest lists, photos, videos, messages, and the rest. You're responsible for having the right to upload it and to share guest information with us for the purpose of planning your wedding. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the service to you and the guests you invite.
5. Cash gifts
Guests may choose to send a cash gift to a couple through the guest page. When they do:
- The guest pays through one of our payment processors (PayHere, Cybersource, or KOKO Pay); WeddingWire never sees full card details.
- WeddingWire records the gift and its status on the couple's dashboard — we act only as a record-keeper for these payments.
- Funds are not disbursed automatically. After the wedding, our team manually transfers the accumulated total to the couple's nominated bank account, and marks each gift as disbursed once that transfer is complete.
- WeddingWire is not a bank, escrow agent, or money-transmission business — this feature is a convenience layer on top of licensed payment processors, and funds are held only for the short period between a guest's payment and manual disbursement.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use WeddingWire to send unsolicited messages unrelated to your wedding, to upload unlawful or infringing content, to attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, or to use the cash-gift feature for anything other than genuine wedding gifting.
7. Intellectual property
The WeddingWire name, branding, and software are owned by us. Nothing in these Terms transfers that ownership to you.
8. Termination
You may stop using WeddingWire and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practical.
9. Disclaimers & liability
WeddingWire is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it reliable, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of Sri Lanka.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the effective date above when we do.
