How do I send digital wedding invitations in Sri Lanka?

  1. 1

    Pick an invitation theme

Choose from more than a dozen themes — from Lotus Mandala and Ivory Veil to Muhurtham — then add your names, date, venue, ceremony times and a personal message.

  2. 2

    Add your guest list

Type guests in or import a CSV. Group them by side (bride’s or groom’s) and family, and note party size, meal preference and dietary needs.

  3. 3

Send by email or SMS, or share one QR code

Every guest gets a personal invitation link. You can also print one QR code on a card or share the link on WhatsApp — it shows a proper preview with your names and date.

  4. 4

    Watch replies arrive

See who has opened their invitation and who has replied, without chasing anyone on the phone.

What can guests do from a digital invitation?

The invitation is more than a card. From the same link, a guest can:

  • Accept or decline, confirm how many people are coming, and choose a meal
  • Switch the whole page between English and Sinhala
  • See the schedule — poruwa, homecoming, reception — and add it to their calendar
  • Find their table and seat once you have finished the seating chart
  • View the menu, your pre-shoot photos and the venue map
  • Send a cash wedding gift, share their photos from the day and leave a note for the couple

Digital or printed wedding invitations: which is better?

Many Sri Lankan couples now do both: a small print run of formal cards for elders and close family, and digital invitations for everyone else. Printed cards still carry weight in many families, so it is worth asking your parents before going fully digital.

Can I write my invitation in Sinhala?

Yes. Every invitation theme has a built-in English/Sinhala switch for the guest-facing labels (RSVP buttons, schedule, seat finder), so older relatives can read and reply in the language they are most comfortable with. Write your personal message in whichever language — or both — you prefer.

For help with the wording itself, see our guide to wedding invitation wording in Sinhala, Tamil and English.

Questions

Do guests need to install an app to open the invitation?

No. The invitation opens in any phone browser from the link or QR code. Only the couple and their planners use the WeddingWire.lk dashboard or Android app.

Can I send save-the-dates before the full invitation?

Yes. Save-the-date and invitation messages are separate templates, so you can send a save-the-date months ahead and the full invitation closer to the day.

Can I use one QR code for everyone?

Yes. Each wedding has one QR code you can print on cards, table signs or welcome boards. Guests can also receive their own personal link so their RSVP is matched to them automatically.

How much do digital wedding invitations cost on WeddingWire.lk?

The Free plan covers one wedding with up to 50 guests. Premium is LKR 4,900 for one wedding with up to 500 guests, and the Planner plan is LKR 24,900 for 10 weddings.
